((I changed the title a bit when I realized it's the Grand Hall, not Great.))
Vren strode into the Grand Hall, nodding to several Abbeydwellers who were already there. She gestured to calm them, knowing some might be frightened at the sight of a wildcat and an eagle.
Dan Greyfern walked over to stand beside Vren, and smiled in greeting at the pair who followed the Abbey Recorder.

Liam instinctively leaned back from the eagle. Too often had he almost been on the receiving end of one of those fierce hooked beaks or fatal talons. But that was in the past now.

Dan turned to the wildcat and smiled a friendly greeting. 'Hello stranger. I'd tell you my name, but I've already said it an' don't want to irritate people by repeating myself.' he said, with a wink and a grin.

Aten nodded agian. "I am Aten Starsight." He spread his wing a little, waiting for Liam to do something.

Liam touched his paw to his forehead in a courtly gesture. "It's good to meet you, sir. I am Liam Crowley, a traveler." He was unaware of the proper greeting for a member of the Abbey's order, so he opted for the usual honorific. He had taken a liking to Dan right away. The mouse seemed to be a beast after his own heart.
The wildcat noticed that Aten had spread his wing out, and he kneeled down and began gently working the damaged shafts out of the eagle's wing.

Dan smiled. 'A pleasure to meet you, Aten and Liam.' he said, nodding to both the eagle and the wildcat in greeting as he spoke. He stepped forward slightly. 'Anything I can do to help?'
Vren watched in silence, ready to help if she was needed.

Liam removed the first two shafts with odd dexterity for a beast of his size. Not wanting to antagonize the eagle, he worked the ends of the feathers out of the tender wing with almost agonizing slowness. Better to be slow and right than fast and dead, he thought. Oh ma, how true that is.
"Done," he said, holding up the offending feathers in his hand.
